We are currently working with a client in East Tennessee to help them find EMC Engineers for their Nuclear Consulting business.  Our client focuses their efforts in testing of process instrumentation and development of specialized test equipment and software products for power and process industries and has been the leading supplier of equipment, training, and services for in-situ response time testing and on-line calibration of temperature and pressure instrumentation in nuclear power plants.

 

The EMC Engineer performs engineering work of various types to collect and analyze data at customer's sites using specialized data acquisition equipment and analysis software that is designed and manufactured for the client’s purposes.  The EMC Engineer will confer with other engineers, clients and others to discuss existing or potential project issues and challenges.  He/she will perform EMI troubleshooting of I&C and Power Systems and will work with site personnel to perform necessary root cause analysis for problem solving.  Report writing will also be a key component of this role as will maintaining excellent interpersonal relationship both within the company as well as with client contacts.

·         At least ten to fifteen (10-15) years of successful relevant hardware circuit design experience. Experience in a relevant product area is an absolute requirement. Several acceptable product areas might be:

o        auto sound manufacturers (headunits, CD players, amplifiers, telematics, navigation etc.)

o        cellular telephone manufacturers

o        satellite receivers

o        embedded systems development

o        audio consumer electronic product development

·         Experience is sought in at least three or more of the areas below:

o        Multiplex & Network Communication system development

o        Wireless & Digital communications

o        High speed digital logic design

o        EMC testing and analysis

o        Low EMI PCB layout and Signal Integrity Analysis

o        Embedded micro controller design, middleware integration, and software development

o        Satellite, telematics, navigation receiver design

o        Power supply, displays, rechargeable battery, and analog audio circuitry design. 

o        GPS receivers

o        Digital video receiver and displays

o        Advanced DSP based audio systems

·         The successful candidate will have an understanding of the consumer electronics and / or automotive OEM electronics product development process — product planning, prototyping, specifications, testing, quality, documentation, etc. Effective past and current relationships with counterparts among consumer electronics and automotive manufacturers would be a major plus.

·         Development experience of antennas and/or RF front-end is a plus.

·         A high-level of personal computer proficiency is required, including experience and familiarity with project planning, engineering software (Visio, SPICE, simulation, MathCAD, Matlab, etc), Microsoft Office and the Internet.

·         Knowledgeable in the use of electrical schematic capture and simulation (RF, analog, & digital) CAE tools is required. PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis experience is desirable.
